“She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:7)
We marvel at the simplicity of this manger scene. The joy the Good News brings, the beauty of its silence, the simplicity of its poverty and the tenderness of Mother and Child. The room that God made for himself in our hearts and in our lives echoes the beauty and simplicity of the manger scene. God wanted to be held by all humanity, recreating us, making all things new. Christmas is about that message. God so love the world he gives us a newborn Son. Destined to love us with a love beyond all telling. Destined to win over our hearts. We make room in our lives for a Savior who comes to rule with gentleness and kindness. Let us make room in hearts for the gift and grace of the Holy Family with acts of tenderness and kindness that help all humanity celebrate the great joy.
God’s peace and blessings always,
Fr. Ivan
